Central Cal VBC was formed in 1980 by Jean Ainger, Harriet Huggins and Lydia Cantrel and was originally called the San Joaquin Volleyball Club. The trio were leaders in the girls volleyball community. Their collective passion was the beginning of the oldest active volleyball club in the Fresno/Clovis area.
In 1986 the club was renamed the Central Cal Volleyball Club and continued to provide a vehicle to showcase the valley's talents and the provide the opportunity for our players to be associated with the United States Volleyball Association (USAV) and the Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA). The players have the opportunity to train and compete in all competitions authorized and sanctioned by the USAV.
The club has been competitive in the NCVA Powr/Premier Travel League at various age leves and has regularly qualified teams to represent the club at the USA Junior National Championship tournament. In addition to our travel teams the club had a reputation of providing quality volleyball experiences for all age level teams in local tournaments.
Central Cal Volleball, in conjunction with the Clovis Unifid Community Recreation Department, also provides instruction for the Little Spikers and the Little Diggers programs for grades 1st-5th.
